Born in 1960 at Münster, I studied Philosophy, Sociology and German literature at Berlin (West).
In 2015 I finished my doctoral thesis about the language of Max Weber (Prof. Kaesler, Marburg).
Work
I have been working as a (mainly) university teacher for German language in Italy, in The Netherlands and in Germany.
Now I am teaching German language, civilisation and literature on behalf of the German Academic Exchange
Service at Olsztyn (Poland).
For more than ten years, I have been teaching German to students of Philosophy and Philology.
I have written several text and exercise books for German and Italian grammar, for German literature (also Easy readers) and Social Sciences.
I like making things easy.
In these months I am trying to create interactive easy readers (iTunes/Tumult Hype) about philosophical texts
that shall facilitate the access to the original.
The first of these projects is the preface to the second edition of the Critique of pure reason.
Me and the Machine
In 1975, I learned how to program in Algol W (and, a little later, in Fortran IV and Simula).
And yes, we still were using punch cards...
In the Nineties, I wrote some programs in TurboPascal (crossword puzzles for my lessons, entrance tests).
Now, I am trying to work with HTML, CSS and Javascript.. yet looking for something really new.
Hopefully I will finish the present project "German for Philosophers" within a year.
I would appreciate getting comments or hints from you: aseiff ]at[ germanforphilosophers.de
